How: cleaning up Active-X files

ActiveX, created by Microsoft in 1996, working with Windows operating system and Internet Explorer.

It connects to various sites and allows users of PC to watch and listen multimedia content. Unfortunately, not using ActiveX controls on Web browsers can replace such as Safari or Firefox. Secondary sites can have their own code to view Web sites for ActiveX. You must remove the ActiveX file if a corrupted download ActiveX or if you want to uninstall and reinstall ActiveX. Level of difficulty: Moderately easy

Instructions

    Removing ActiveX files

    Open Internet Explorer and select "Tools" menu.

    Select "downloading ActiveX controls" in the drop-down menu under "Add Management."

  • You will see a list of installed Internet Explorer ActiveX files. If a specific ActiveX control file that you want to delete, it will be in the list.

    Select the ActiveX control file you want to delete and choose "Delete" at the bottom of the window.

  • Click "OK".

    Close and open Internet Explorer.

  • Delete the ActiveX

    Delete the ActiveX program completely if delete ActiveX files do not resolve your problem.

  • Close Internet Explorer.

    On the desktop, click "start", "Control Panel" and "Add or remove programs."

    Find the ActiveX control program and choose "remove".

  • Open IE to

    see the change takes effect. In some cases, you can boot your computer, even if there be a need.
