Microsoft has created the ActiveX frame for use with a Windows operating system.

The framework allows developers, programs to create additional functionality for Windows applications, including Internet Explorer browser add. Many modules are popular browser using ActiveX, including Adobe Flash Player and Java-browser plug ins. If you want to run ActiveX controls, your browser must be configured correctly and controls you have installed must already be enabled.     Open an Internet Explorer browser window.

    Click on "Tools" in the Explorer bar, or select "Tools" from the menu bar at the top of the window.
