How: install ActiveX control for Java

ActiveX controls are used by some Web applications to create advanced with the Web browser user interactions.

ActiveX controls are exclusively with Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. ActiveX controls are created by Web programmers so that users from the need to install that you are available on the Web application. If an automated installation does not provide the Web Developer, you can manually install for Java ActiveX control. Difficulty: average

   Register the ActiveX control to a folder on your hard disk.

You can save it in a shared folder on Windows in the system directory.

Click the button start and select "Run".

Type "Cmd" in the text box and press "enter". This opens the Windows command prompt.

Type "cd < folder >" in the command prompt and then press "enter".

Replace < folder > with the location of the Windows directory on the ActiveX control.

Type "Regsvr32 < file >" in the command prompt and then press "enter".

Replace < file > by the name of the ActiveX control. This command installs and registers the program that can be used by Java compiler.
