To delete ActiveX components

ActiveX components are software simple, basic from Microsoft, the Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows integration with other applications, to enable such as Windows Media Player or Microsoft Office programs.

ActiveX components or controls, the OCX file extension and can be embedded in Web pages and web applications. ActiveX controls can edit files, collect data or run other programs. ActiveX components can be disabled via the browser or removed completely from the computer. Level of difficulty: Moderately easy

Instructions

    In the list of programs installed ActiveX component

    Close all open browser Windows.

    Click the Windows "Start" button and click on the "Control Panel" link or icon.

    Click "programs and features" in Control Panel.

  • An alphabetical list of installed programs is displayed.
  • 4

    Find the ActiveX control, and click the entry.

  • 5

    Click the "Uninstall" option.

  • 6

    Click on "OK" to make the uninstall process.

  • Windows is the component to uninstall.

    Click the Windows "Start" button.

    Type the following command in the entry field search Vista.

  • Replace the drive letter for the word "Drive" and the name of the ActiveX component for word "Filename" file in the command.

    "regsvr32 drive: \windows\occach""E\filename""ocx/u".

    In Windows XP, click Start, then "Run" and type the command in the run box.

    Press the "enter" button to execute the command.

  • This DOS command is the ActiveX component to uninstall.
