How: enable ActiveX in Internet Explorer 7

Enable ActiveX in Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) extends the functionality of the browser.

This is because ActiveX uses various existing components on your computer system. According to Microsoft, "for ActiveX, you can easily insert multimedia effects, interactive objects and sophisticated programs in a Web page, create a user experience similar to the high-quality multimedia CD ROM title." Because some sites on ActiveX technology based, may experience problems viewing certain Web pages without this feature is enabled. Level of difficulty: Medium difficult

    Start IE7 to and click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options"

    The "Security" tab, select "Internet" and then "custom level" is not enabled by default.

    You scroll to the section "ActiveX controls and plug-in the" and then apply the following settings:



    Click the "Activate" button for "inciting automatic for ActiveX controls," radio "Binary and script behaviors," "run ActiveX controls and plug-in the" and sections "Script secure ActiveX script marked."




  • Select the "Quick" under "signed the download ActiveX controls" radio button "Download unsigned ActiveX controls", and "initialize and script ActiveX controls marked unsafe" sections.

    Go to the section "Downloads" and choose "Enable" under "Automatic prompting for file downloads" and "Download file".

    Select "Ferm."

  • " "he" and select "Yes", if you clickrequired to change your security settings. Close the "Internet Options" dialog box by you "OK".

    IE7 completely close and restart the browser settings to take effect.

  • You have successfully enabled ActiveX.
