In the Windows "Start" menu, and click "Run" or "Start Search".
Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and press "Enter" to start services console. You should a list of programs and applications that watch on your computer. In the Windows "Start" menu, and click "Run" or "Start Search".
Scroll down and double-click on "Windows Messenger (Windows XP) or"Windows Live Messenger "(Windows_Vista_und_7)".
Scroll in the right pane, and then double-click Windows Messenger.
Close the Services console.
