Getting started with Windows Live Messenger

Windows Messenger is an instant messaging application in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP visit download available as a stand-alone application.

It provides the ability to chat, send, view video, work together and even files someone on your computer (with your permission). You can have your headset and speaker to many audio conversations. Windows Messenger is oriented more compared to MSN Messenger, which includes fun and leisure features designed for the business user. Level of difficulty: Moderately easy

Instructions

You need: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later of things

    Download Windows Messenger.

If you have not already installed Windows Messenger on your computer, visit the website Windows Messenger download (see resources). Load the file and click on it to start the Setup program.

    Establish a connection.

  • You can connect to Windows Messenger Live Hotmail, MSN or xBox to your account or create a new account to connect to one of these services. If you create a new account from the logon screen, click the link "get a .NET Passport" at the bottom of the screen. You need a new account creation page. Follow the on-screen prompt, create a user name and password. A .NET Passport account can to use all Windows Live services.

    Add your contacts.

  • Click on the link "Add contact" at the bottom of the screen. You can add contacts by e-Mail, name or search after you. If you, you whom suchenAndera give details of the contact you are looking for. Once the Kontakt is, click on "Finish" to add it to your contact list. Contact must approve your request before adding that they appear as online Messenger.

    Send a message.

  • Once you are signed and added to your contacts, click twice on each of your contacts to open a new window message. Type in the text and click on "Send", or simply press enter to send the text to you. If you respond, it is there in the window of dialogue under the text that you send.

    Set your status.

  • Allow other users to know when it setting is perfect for contact status. Click on "File" menu select "Set the status" or use the drop-down arrow next to your username. Choose one of the options, or type your own message state. This will appear on your name in your contact buddy lists.
