How: Remove Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger is an Instant Messenger Microsoft software and is installed on each computer running Windows XP, Vista or 7.

Live Messenger not currently using you, you want to remove. The disposal method varies depending on the version of Windows, you perform. Difficulty: easy

Instructions

    Windows 7 and Windows Vista

    Right click on Windows Live Messenger icon in the system tray (on left side of the time).

Click the option marked "Exit" to close the program. Once it is closed, click the Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Click the menu that comes on "Control Panel".

    Click it in the Panel on the link marked "Uninstall A program" under the heading "Programs" listed.

  • This will provide a listing of all programs installed on your computer. Search for "Windows Live Messenger," click once to highlight it, and then "uninstall / change" click the button marked Windows Live Messenger automatically uninstall.

    Once the software has been uninstalled, a window will appear so you know that successful when you delete the software.

  • Click "OK", to recognize the pop-up window, and then you restart your computer with the uninstall process to compete.

    Windows XP

    Right-click the Windows Live Messenger icon in the taskbar in the lower right corner of the screen (next time).

  • Click the menu that comes on the option that says, "Stop". Once the icon is hidden, click on die bOuton green "start" in the lower left corner of the screen. From there click "Control Panel" option selected.

    Within Control Panel, double-click Add / Remove Programs"option.

  • The w "Add or remove programs" window appears with a white screen in the middle points out, "Please wait while the list is complete." This will disappear after all the computer software was found and displays a list of software installed on your computer. Locate the text that says "Windows Live Messenger", and then click Select. Once selected, click the "Delete" button. In the next window that occurs, click "Yes" and the software will be uninstalled automatically.

    After the software has been deleted, Windows XP is a box that warns that the deletion was successful.

  • Click "OK", and then restart the computer to finish uninstalling Windows Live Messenger.
