Phishing is a method, the scammers, spammers and hackers use to try to deceive you by you information such as your social security number, user names, passwords and other confidential information.

Phishing attempts are often forged in spam to look like it comes from a reputable company such as a bank.     Open Internet Explorer.

    Click the "Security" option in the menu.

    Click SmartScreen filter, and "Enable SmartScreen filter".

    Click on "enable Filter SmartScreen (recommended)", then press "OK".


  • You can later disable the phishing filter if it should be below legitimate websites as phishing attempts but this not be necessary.
